As Lutheran Christians we know that our God provides us with many gifts and one of the most important gifts we can receive is to share the Holy Meal that Jesus started…share in Holy Communion.  What do you need to do or have to receive Communion – well, we believe it is important to be Baptized because we believe that it is through our Baptism that we are welcomed into God’s Family.  Of course, everyone has to eat!  How else can you be nourished?  And so here at Redeemer, we welcome children to this special Meal.  But we also want them to know what is happening all around them – and that is why we hold First Communion classes for those children who are ready to take part in the Meal.  It’s always good to know something about the blessings you receive – and Holy Communion is both a Sacrament and a Blessing.
